Key Business Drivers are the live levers on the control panel. They are the handful of drivers that can materially improve or damage results if they drift.

The software organizes the KBD conversation into six categories: Revenue, Acquisition, Retention, Margins, Capacity, and Other. That gives leadership a consistent frame for identifying which drivers really matter.

At the top of the page, the software shows the total number of weaknesses under review and groups them by high-level work buckets such as Schedule, Quick Win, and Defer.

Those buckets are part of how Scale B.O.S.S. organizes the list once weaknesses are visible. They matter, but they are not the main focus of this guide. The important point here is that the system is treating weaknesses as a working queue, not as passive notes.

The warning banner

The banner at the top of the page makes the operating rule explicit: every weakness needs an Impact Charter before moving to Development.

That one sentence tells you a lot about how the software is built. Weakness Resolution is not the place where the weakness gets solved. It is the place where the weakness gets named, owned, and attached to structured work.

Source traceability

Each weakness card shows where the issue came from. In the screenshot, the card title and source line make it clear that the weakness originated from a specific Business Essentials question.

The cards also show a status on the right side, such as UNRESOLVED or IN PROGRESS. If a charter already exists, the card may also show that linked work item beneath the card body.

What each field on the weakness card is doing

The weakness card is simple on purpose. Each field is there to move the item from "we know this is weak" to "this now belongs to someone and has a defined path forward."

Impact / Value

This field forces leadership to make a practical judgment about how much the weakness matters. It is not full prioritization yet, but it begins to separate a minor nuisance from something that could materially affect growth, execution, or stability.

Time to Resolve

This field asks a different question: how long will it realistically take to fix? Some weaknesses can be corrected quickly. Others require weeks or months of process design, documentation, hiring, or implementation.

Impact and time are intentionally separate. Something can be highly important and still take a long time. Something else can be fairly small and still be easy to knock out.

Defer

The card can also show a Defer option. This is one of the ways the software acknowledges that not everything belongs in the current work cycle. Visibility does not require immediate action. The list is meant to be complete enough to be useful, not so urgent that it creates chaos.

Assigned To

Every weakness needs a real owner. This field matters because improvement work dies when it is assigned to "the team" or "leadership" in general. The software is forcing accountability by turning the weakness into something that belongs to a specific person.
